Who is Jan?

What you see is what you get! I am Jan, 56 years old, born and raised in Oudenbosch. I am married to Janet, father of two children, Yoeri and Kevin, and grandfather of Beau and Job.

In my spare time I play in a dweilband (carnival band) and occasionally give a performance here and there, which by now is well known at HANKO!

How did you end up at HANKO?

I have been working at HANKO since 2014. I was Team Coach at Keller Keukens in Roosendaal but after the reorganization my position there became redundant. After sitting at home for a few months, I was called by Guus Pemen of Embregts Transport for the Warehouse Manager position at Embregts in Etten-Leur. This is how I came into contact with HANKO!

What is your job at HANKO?

I am Warehouse Manager of HANKO's warehouse in Etten-Leur. I make sure that everything runs smoothly here and that all orders are dispatched neatly and on time. I work in a small team of 3 to 4 people.

What makes the work so enjoyable for you?

Trying to get the most out of every day! Every day we look at how we can do everything as efficiently as possible, every day we try to get our heads in the same direction.

Where does your strength lie?

I was sometimes accused at my previous employer of being too much of a "people manager," but I am convinced that you can achieve much more with your team this way. You have to make your people important and involve them in the process. During that time, I also learned that you learn much more from the people below you than from the people above you. Other than that, I'm just always myself and play badly; in doing so, I sometimes have to make excuses for certain moods to colleagues ... but they know me by now!

What does the HANKO-FAMILY mean to you?

The atmosphere among ourselves is always good, you can talk to anyone if you have problems or are worried about something. Everyone is always there for each other and that contributes to a great working atmosphere here at the office and in the warehouse. From the first moment you feel that you are appreciated, I immediately felt at home in the HANKO-FAMILY!

What does DEDICATION FOR INSULATION mean to you?

Being there for everyone and making sure everything goes out the door to our customers neat, tidy and on time. Time is important in our industry so we do everything we can to help our customers with this. We think in possibilities and solutions, nothing is too crazy for us!
